Facebook Groups
Facebook isn't exactly the most search friendly platform & with so many groups, it can be hard to figure out which one to join! Once you're in twenty of them, it's hard to tell which ones are actually really useful to you and it's hard to keep track of.
Ideally, this list will help you:
1. narrow down which communities to join,
2. which ones are currently very active,
3. which are not flooded with art sharing, and
4. which ones are of actual benefit to you.
Categorization Criteria
Name of Group: Hyperlink the Group Name to the Group’s webpage.
Would I join?: Quick Yes/No. See “Why/Why not join?” for details on choice.
Public / Closed: Do you need to fill out questions to join?
Printmaking Focus: What mediums do they cover?
Group Size: How many people are in the group?
Publication Affiliation: Some groups are part of magazines or studios.
Level of Activity: Measured by amount of posts, comments, and likes. Notes quality of the conversations happening as well.
Post Approval Process?: Is there active moderation of posting? Do posts need to be vetted by a moderator before being seen by the public?
Repeat Content?: Are the same artworks being posted in multiple printmaking groups? Same applies to printmaking questions.
Group Activities (Majority): What is the majority of the content feed made up of?
Group Activities (Minority): What other content items are posted in the group?
Description: Exact or shorted description of the group’s activities. Taken from their “About” section.
Contributor Name: Person who added this entry to the Print Library.
Why / Why not join?: Reason for joining the group or not. Answer is based on the level of activity and quality of interactions, not personal vendettas or favoritism.
NOTE: on the open source version, contributor names may not remain accurate if someone decides to erase it. I will do my best to make sure people are accurately credited, but these things happen.

By Kaitlyn HollanderI have looked through these entries and made a value judgement about them. Anything on here I have at least taken a casual look at.
